The Bishop’s 5K Results
Thanks to all who participated in the 2nd Annual Bishop’s 5K at Bellevue State Park on Nov 18th!
The St. Polycarp Flames represented our parish very well with 9 members (Charles Anyanwu, Carol Donahue, Chuck Miller, Jack & Carol Molyneux, Denny Raab, Lisa Titus, Adrienne & Austin Yourek), 4 of which received time awards in their respective age/gender categories. Congratulations to the winners and all of our team members! We hope to see you at next year’s event.

Several members of our ministries handed out candy at the Smyrna Trunk or Treat on Halloween. Thank you to the Parish Family Life Ministry, Sodality, Columbiettes, Knights, Academy, Welcoming Ministry and Ushers for representing St. Polycarp at this community event!
Parishioner Ben Walters was presented with the Diocesan Medal of Merit Award by Bishop Malooly at a ceremony at St. Joseph’s in Middletown, for his tireless work here at St. Polycarp. Ben and his family have been registered parishioners since 1995. He has served on various committees throughout the years and currently serves on the Facilities Planning Committee. Ben is also a Eucharistic Minister for the Liturgy and for the Homebound. He is a devoted member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society (St. Polycarp Chapter). Sir Knight Ben Walters is an honorary life member of the Brother Vincent Council Knights of Columbus & charter member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Assembly.

Did you know that St. Polycarp has a pre-school program for children on weekdays? The Academy at St. Polycarp welcomes 3 & 4 year old children. As of October 19, 2017, there are available spots in our three year old class. Call the office for more information 653-8279 or 653-1496.
