Chrism Mass April 10 2017
At this Mass Bishop Malooly blessed the three oils which are used in the year ahead throughout our diocese in the administration of sacraments.
Between the the doors at the main entrance to the Church you will see a small cabinet called an ambry. This houses the vessels containing the three types of blessed oils.
1. Oil of the catechumen – used to bless and strengthen those preparing for baptism
2. Oil of the sick – used for annointing of the sick
3. Sacred Chrism – used at Baptism, Confirmation and Holy Orders
PSR Lenten Almsgiving Prayer Service 2017
Thank you to our students for their generosity in our recent Lenten Activity, We donated six of our big baskets full of food to the Smyrna-Clayton Food Pantry. Thank you to Mrs. Patti Tigani and Mrs. Brenda Russillo for being present at our Almsgiving Prayer Service and for sharing information about the Food Pantry with us. Way to go PSR!!!
Missionary Childhood Association Awards
St. Polycarp PSR once again were recognized for their generosity in contributions to the MIssionary Childhood Association. Accepting the awards for St. Polycarp – Drew & Skylar Whitlock and Jennifer Sloven.
Rite of Election March 4, 2017
Our Catechumen, Brittany, – and our Candidate, Samantha, with Bishop Malooly following the Rite of Election & Call to continuing conversion at Holy Cross.
Appreciation Dinner 2017
Thank you to those in our parish who give the gift of time in volunteering in one of our many ministries or serving on one of our committees. Our Pastoral Council hosted a wonderful dinner complete with fun entertainment by Mr. Charisma! Looking forward to this being an annual event. Get involved so that you can join us next year!
