FIFTY YEARS OF HOPE: Next weekend marks the start of the 2026 Faith and Charity Catholic Appeal throughout the Diocese of Wilmington. For 50 years, this appeal has united many hands in one mission — serving those in need, forming our faith, and ensuring the Church’s growth for generations to come. This year, participation matters more than ever. For every parishioner who gives for the first time, 50% of their donation will stay right here in our parish to support our own ministries and local needs. Once our parish reaches its overall goal, we also receive a share of funds raised beyond that goal — strengthening our community even further.
Your gift, at any level, helps continue a 50-year legacy of faith, hope, and charity that builds up the Church in Delaware and Maryland’s Eastern Shore. Please prayerfully consider your support and come to Mass next weekend ready to make your pledge to this year’s Faith and Charity Catholic Appeal. OUR PARISH –
PARISH AND FAMILY LIFE COMMITTEE
A vibrant and supportive parish life and family life are important elements in living the Gospel life of Jesus. The Lord was born into a family and nurtured in a family. The Lord reached out and called disciples to be a community of faith that included celebrations, prayer and eating at tables. Parish family life should help to bring together the parish family; provide support and enrichment to the parents and family of the parish community; reach out to the wider community; welcome newcomers.
This group encourages family and parish activities that strengthen Christian community, fostering a sense of belonging among all members of the parish. Some areas of focus for this committee are:
- Assessing the needs of, and recommending programs for various groups in the parish
- Develop and coordinate a good parish social life program. This program should be based on promoting values of the parish family and our Catholic faith.
- Guiding the community in reaching out and welcoming new members.
- Fostering a spirit of prayer and concern in the community for one another.
The possibilities for this committee are endless, but support from all parishioners is needed.
The Parish and Family Life Committee is comprised of the following ministries:
Agape
Columbiettes
Knights of Columbus
Prayer Chain
Squires
Welcoming Committee
