Palm Sunday 2019

PSR Lenten Almsgiving Activity – 2019

Lent is a special time when we share the concepts of prayer and stewardship giving. During the season of Lent, our Parish School of Religion had an opportunity to take part in a special program of Lenten outreach.  By participating in it, our students put into practice one of the Corporal Works of Mercy – feeding the hungry.

On an assigned date during Lent, each student brought in a food item to be donated to the Smyrna-Clayton Food Pantry.  The children gathered together for an Almsgiving Prayer Service during which time they handed in their food donation.  To make this activity as meaningful as possible, students were encouraged to use their own money to purchase the food.

Archives Exhibit – Diocese of Wilmington

On February 24th, the Archives of the Catholic Diocese presented a special exhibit in celebration of the 150th Anniversary of the founding of the Diocese of Wilmington. The exhibit featured dozens of items and documents going back to the 1600s when the first Catholic Europeans arrived in present-day Delaware and the Eastern Shore of Maryland.

Thank you to parishioner, Linda Ecker for attending and sharing these pictures with us.

MINISTRY FAIR 2019

Thank you to everyone who made our Ministry Fair a success…to the many ministries that helped plan, set up displays, supplied refreshments, to the many parishioners who came to learn more about our parish and to those who said yes to being part of our active parish!
