Children’s Liturgy of the Word
Sundays during the 10:30 am Mass on the first and third Sundays of the month, October – April.
Mission Statement
The mission of Children’s Liturgy of the Word at St. Polycarp Church is to create a welcoming environment for youth in grades Pre-Kindergarten through 4th grade to appreciate and comprehend the Word of God at a level that is suited towards children during the weekly Sunday Mass. We hope all of our parishioners will reflect on the scripture from Matthew 19:44, “Jesus said, let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these.”
Children’s Liturgy of the Word (CLoW) is a worship experience geared especially for their age level. It mirrors the worship experience of the larger community in an engaging and interactive style. This opportunity allows children to hear Scripture in words they understand and to share their own understanding of God’s Word. All children ages PreK-4th grade are welcome to attend. CLOW is offered twice a month, on the first and third Sundays of the month during the 10:30 am Mass.
Children will be called to come forward before the First Reading. A catechist and assistant will lead the children to the hall. They will return to you after the General Intercessions. All catechists and assistants have a cleared background check.
