COVID-19 GUIDANCE: Late yesterday, we received new guidelines from the Diocese. Our Liturgy Committee will be meeting to work with the new guidelines. By next weekend, Memorial Day Weekend, we anticipate having plans in place. Please be patient as we move forward in the implementation of these guidelines. Beginning next week, we will no longer be taking reservations.

The Gift of a Memorial Brick is a unique and memorable way to celebrate a special occasion, honor family and friends (living or deceased), share a favorite quote and more! If you would like to become part of the walkway to our Blessed Mother with your name or the name of a loved one, now is a good time to do so! There are two ways to order your bricks. You can order through Faith Direct at: https://membership.faithdirect.net/events/details/5644
(you do not need to sign up for Faith Direct), or return your form (available on our website or at the doors of the Church) with payment to St. Polycarp Church in an envelope labeled “Memorial Brick”. Please place the completed order form and a check for $80.00, made payable to St. Polycarp Church, in the envelope. You can place it in the Offertory collection, deliver it to the Parish Office (place in black box), or mail it to the parish office.
REGISTRATION FOR PSR (Parish School of Religious Education) is now open for 2021-2022. Our PSR offers religious education for children in pre-kindergarten through ninth grade. BISHOP MALOOLY TO ORDAIN MICHAEL A. PRESTON TO THE PRIESTHOOD ON MAY 22ND – The Most Reverend W. Francis Malooly, Apostolic Administrator of the Catholic Diocese of Wilmington, will ordain Rev. Mr. Michael Anthony Preston to the Priesthood on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Elizabeth’s Church in Wilmington, Delaware. Rev. Mr. Preston was ordained to the Transitional Diaconate last August. Due to COVID-19 safety protocols, attendance at the May 22nd Mass of Ordination is by invitation only. The ceremony will be live-streamed on the Diocese of Wilmington’s YouTube channel – www.YouTube.com/DioceseofWilm.

ORDINATION: Please pray for Brennan Ferris, a seminarian studying for the priesthood for the Diocese of Wilmington, who will be ordained to the transitional diaconate on May 15 at 11 a.m. at the Cathedral of St. Peter in Wilmington. BLESSING OF MOTHERS will take place this weekend, May 8th and 9th at both the 4:00 pm Mass and the 10:30 am Mass.
MOTHER’S DAY NOVENA OF MASSES: Express your love for a special mother, grandmother, godmother, mother-in-law, an expectant mother, or any woman who has played a motherly role in your life by enrolling them in the Mother’s Day Novena of Masses. You can remember any dear woman, living or deceased. This is a wonderful way to show your love for the mothers and special women in your life. Envelopes are available at the doors of the Church.
THIS WEEKEND – Birthright of Delaware will host its ANNUAL MOTHER’S DAY ROSE SALE at our parish. May Crowning – May 2, 2021
May is the month dedicated to Mary. The most popular activity Catholics do to honor the Mother of God during this month is to participate in a May Crowning Ceremony. In crowning Mary, we also thank Jesus for giving us His Mother to be our own. We can always turn to Mary in our times of suffering, as well as rejoicing.
