St. Polycarp Church, along with other churches and schools in our community will gather at their respective locations to pray together for the safety and well-being of everyone returning to school. The Smyrna- Clayton Ministerium is hosting this wonderful event. Families, students, teachers, and staff everywhere have another challenging year ahead. Our prayers are needed! We will begin with prayer together as a group at 6:00pm in front of the church and then walk around the building together in silent prayer. For those who don’t feel comfortable walking, you may go inside the church to say the rosary instead. The church will be open from 6-7pm. Please consider joining our Parish Family & the community of Smyrna in prayer. Mark your calendars!
DO YOU OR SOMEONE YOU KNOW WANT TO LEARN MORE ABOUT BECOMING CATHOLIC OR RECEIVING THE SACRAMENTS? The RCIA is the process by which persons who were never baptized, baptized in other faith traditions, or baptized Catholic, but not “fully initiated” in the Church through Confirmation and the Eucharist become full members of the Catholic Church, a people on pilgrimage to our Heavenly Father. An RCIA Inquiry Session will take place Monday evening, August 30th in the Parish Library at 6:30 pm. For information, please contact Deacon Frank Weber at DeaconFrank@saintpolycarp.org or leave a message with the Parish office at (302) 653 – 8279.

LET US PRAY:
Each year, the Holy Father asks for our prayers for a specific intention each month. You are invited to answer the Holy Father’s request and to join with many people worldwide in praying for this intention each month.
August:
Let us pray for the Church, that she may receive from the Holy Spirit the grace and strength to reform herself in the light of the Gospel.
Lord hear our prayer.
